Homeless of kisumu initiative

1st August we were honored to be part of an amazing initiative. It is heartwarming to announce that we are partners alongside other amazing individuals and organizations who are set to bring back dignity to humanity.

We all came together and brought to life Homeless of Kisumu, which we believe is the best thing that could ever happen. Our team is passionate about it and we all understand that the best way to change the world is through one good deed at a time.

On our first day we had activities that involved playing with the boys, having some mentorship and empowering sessions to serving a hot meal. This touched our hearts when we witnessed the impact of a good deed.

Homeless of Kisumu is an umbrella body of individuals and organizations who have come together to take care of street kids in Kisumu inspired by activities of Homeless of Nairobi, a philanthropy effort by @Clifford Chianga Oluoch.

We believe that no child belongs to the street; there should be dignity to humanity and equality to everyone. We aim to become life-changers to these individuals as we ensure that they eventually get better lives.

In doing this we seek to address the following Sustainable Development Goals:
• 2: Zero Hunger
• 3: Good Health and Wellbeing
• 10: Reducing Inequalities
• 17: Partnerships for the goals

Our key projects include feeding, which involves providing a hot meal to the child; something we all know is rare. The feeding will initially be on a weekly basis with the plan to make it daily.

We will also conduct Counseling and Mentorship, through engaging in sports and group dynamics activities. Personal development, hygiene and general well-being of the children.

In the future we plan to start a back to school initiative, providing shelters and also reintegration of the street kids back to their families.

The team is made of amazing and passionate individuals and organizations who will partner to see this to the end. We believe that partnership is key as we work to attain the various sustainable development goals. A big shoutout to Better Me Kenya, Dewo Ngima, L4L, Gahso, Jabulani Youths for Transformation – JAY4T, Organization of African Youth, Adopt A Family Na Kasoo, Armstrong Women Empowerment Centre, Homeless of Nairobi for being amazing partners in the initiative.

Therefore, we appeal to more individuals, well-wishers and organizations who would love to be part of this to hop on board and bring back dignity to humanity.

Join us and lets keep making an impact in the lives of our fellow human beings. Everyone deserves a chance, so let’s give it to them.
